House of Lords, April 16.

Their lordships re-assembled to-day at half-past three, pursuant to adjournment.
Viscount Goderich, as the Earl of Ripon, was introducted by the Earls of Morley and Cawdor, and took the oaths and his seat.

Lord Wynford moved the second reading of the Common Law Amendment bill.

Lord Lyndhurst expressed his decided opinion that the bill, from the importance of its provisions, should be postponed; and moved, as an amendment, that it be read that day six months.

This amendment was seconded and supported by Lord Eldon, the Lord Chancellor, &c., and was ultimately adopted.

No other business of importance came before their Lordships.
