Sugar  The sugar market was open only three days last week, on account of the holiday time; the purchases 2000 hhds. and tierees at prices 1s. per cwt, higher, on account of the late lamentable news from the West Indies, and the trade being out of stock.

At the close of the market this afternoon the estimated sales this day, including the Barbadoes, are only 600 hhds. and tierces, but the prices are rather higher, and a very firm market.

There is no alternation in the Refined market this afternoon.

West India Molasses This day's public sale 195 punchs 25 hhds.  Demerara Molasses, middling quality party sold at 23s.

Coffee There was little alteration in the Coffee market last week; the demand for British Plantation descriptions descriptions continued extensive, and a small improvement on the late advance had been realized.  The inquiries after coloury Foreign and for East India continued, but no purchases to any extent were reported; 1771 bags very good St. Domingo offered at public sale, which was all taken in at 54s. 6d and 55s, and for which 51s. was offered and refused after the sale. 


Rum, Brandies and Hollands   The Rum market is steady in price, but there is little busines doing.  In Brandy or Geneva there is no alteration.

Indigo   Of the 4733 chests declared for sale, 837 chests Company's have been sold this day.  They were mostly of good consuming and middling shipping quality, and sold with spirit from last sale's prices to 3d. advance.  A small proportion of good shipping realized the same advance.  Prices ruled from 3s. 5d. a 5s. 2d.

Saltpetre The Market is firm, and rather higher.
