“WEMBLEY BIRDS” ANNUAL  MEETING.

Commenting on the success of the outing of a fortnight  ago, Mr. Robert
LAYBOURNE, hon. Secretary, at the annual meeting held in the  Football Pavilion
during the weekend, stated that as there seemed to be some  doubt as to whether
the Cup Final would be played at Wembley next year, it would  be necessary to
make an earlier start with next year’s programme, to enable all  the members
who intended joining to become fully aware of the  conditions.

The League Championship Final was considered as an  alternative venue, but it
was resolved to leave the question in abeyance until  later, and in the
meantime, the officials make arrangements for the opening of  the outing fund, to
begin on June 6th. The Committee was re-elected as also were  Mr. J. H.
BLACKBURN, chairman, who presided, Mr. William TUNSTALL, hon. Treas.,  and Mr. Robert LAYBOURNE, hon. Sec.
