Phoenix Fire Office

       Renewal Receipts for Policies falling due at Michaelmas, are now in
the hands of the several Agents of the Company.

       Insurances of every Description are effected on the most moderate
terms.

       Stock on a farm may be insured in one sum without the average clause,
at 2s per cent per annum.

       Losses by fire occasioned by lightening have always been paid by this
office.

       Persons insuring for Three Hundred Pounds, or upwards, will not be
charged for the policy; and all endorsement will be made Gratis.

ISELL INCLOSURE.

       Notice is hereby given that the Commissioners appointed by an Act of
Parliament passed in the forty-eighth year of the reign of his present Majesty
instituted an Act for Inclosing Lands in the Parish of ISELL, in the County of
Cumberland," Intend to meet at the House of George SHEFFIELS, innkeeper at
Cockbridge, in the County of Cumberland on Friday the First day of October next
at eleven o'clock in the forenoon for the purpose of executing their General
Award.

Threapland Inclosure.

Notice is hereby given that the Commissioners appointed to carry out
Execution "An Act for inclosing lands in the Township of Threapland, in the Parish of
Torpenhow, in the County of Cumberland," do intend to meet at Cockbridge Inn,
on Saturday the 2nd day of October next, at ten o'clock in the Forenoon, for
the purpose of reading over and executing their General Award to be made in
Pursuance of the said Act, when and where the Proprietors of Lands in Threapland,
and all other persons, interested in the said Inclosure may attend if they
think proper.

consisting of One Hundred and Ten, or One Hundred and Twenty, Scots Statute
Acres, or thereby; mostly Oak, with some Ash, and a small quantity of Birch;
situate within four miles of the Port of Dumfries.

by Private Bargain; and will give a Fortnight's Notice, should such a sale
take place.

MORESBY ASSOCIATION.

       An Association having been formed, by the inhabitants of the Township
of Moresby, in the County of Cumberland, for the purpose of apprehending and
prosecuting all persons guilty of Felonies, Tresspasses, and other Misdemeanors
within the said township.

       We, whose names are hereto subscribed being appointed a committee for
carrying the purpose of the said into effect.

       Mr. BANKS, impressed with a most lively sense of Gratitude and respect
to the Ladies and Gentlemen of whitehaven and its Vicinity, for the Liberal
Encouragement he has for a number of years experienced, informs his friends,
that he intends opening School, at his house in Duke-street, on Monday, the 15th
of November, 1813, and proposes taking scholars who have been at the Dancing
School, without entrance, and hopes from his unremitting attention to the
instruction of his pupils, to merit a continuance of their favours.

       N. B. Mr. B. Intends resuming school in the Isle of Mann, the
beginning of June, 1814.

House  of  the  late  Joseph  DOBINSON,  at
Tallentire, in the Parish of Bridekirk,

       All his Farming Stock, consisting of

       Thirty-Two Head Of Cattle,

       Of the Long-horned  Breed. - Five  present
Calvers - 16 winter and spring calvers,  and the
rest Heifers of different ages.  -  Six good work
horses, One three year old colt, carts, ploughs
harrows and other husbandry utensils.

       N. B. All sums under firty shillings, ready
money; all at and above that sum, Six months
credit will be given, on giving satisfactory sec-
