SCHOOL BOARD ELECTIONS. The election of the Workington School Board will take place on Tuesday next. The last day for receiving nominations was Friday, and the following gentlemen have been nominated: Mr. Thomas CROSSTHWAITE Mr. H. F. CURWEN Rev. T. DICKEN Mr. John MORDY Mr. Alfred PEILE Rev. J. J. THORNLEY Mr. Henry M'ALEER Mr. J. W. RANDALL Mr. G. GRAHAM It will be seen by the above list that the old members are with the exception of Rev. H. CURWEN, offering themselves for re-election. There are nine candidates for seven seats. The voting will, of course, be by ballot. The polling booths will be at St. John's School, and St. Michael's School, one at the former and two at the latter place. Mr. H. M'ALEER, it is understood, has been nominated to represent the Roman Catholics of the town. ********** |
