LADIES’ NIGHT. ______ The brethren of Skiddaw Lodge No. 1002, Cockermouth, entertained their ladies at a social in the Globe Hotel on Thursday evening, when Bro. J. TINDALE, W. M., welcomed a nice company. The proceedings began with a whist drive, with Bro. J. DALLAS as M. C., at the conclusion of which Mrs. J. W. HALL handed the prizes to: Mrs. G. MILLER Mrs. LONG, Mayo Street Mrs. F. NAINBY Miss. W. BILLINGTON Miss. D. BILLINGTON Miss. DALLAS Mrs. W. BOWMAN Miss. ARMSTRONG Mrs. DOUGLAS, Brigham Mrs. PEARSON, Clifton. Host MITCHELL provided an excellent supper, after which vocal items were given by Bro. JENKINSON, Bro. W. H. KENNON and his “Old Brigade” chorus, a Cumberland recitation by Wor. Bro. J. W. HALL, followed by a short dance, with Bro. Jno. CAMPBELL and Miss. Sadie GRAVE at the piano, and Bro. J. CLEMENTSON as M. C. After Wor. Bro. HALL had thanked the entertainers, and enjoyable evening concluded with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne” and the National Anthem. |
