23 April 1880 Death-Mr. Wilson of Shotley Hall |
We regret to announce the death, yesterday morning, of Mr. WILSON, of Shotley Hall, at the age of 80 years.
Mr. WILSON was highly respected in both East Cumberland and in Northumberland, and his public spirit, especially in encouraging the finer breeds of shorthorns, conferred great benefits on the agriculture of the district.
Mr. WILSON was a magistrate for Cumberland and Northumberland. He was a strong Conservative in politics, and was a vice president of the East Cumberland Conservative Association, and president, we believe, of the Alston branch of that Association.
