The anniversary services of the Harrington Presbyterian Church  were held on
Sunday and Monday. The Rev. E.W. TOMS, M. A. of Barrow, was the  special
preacher, and there were large congregations morning and  evening.


The morning service was attended by Girl Guides. Brownies and Wolf  Clubs.
In the evening Mr. TOMS spoke on the quality of sympathy, his text being,  “I
sat where they eat.” The choir under the conductorship of Mr. G. W. LAWSON,
rendered the chorus, “Praise ye the mighty God. “ Mr. W. WRIGHT was
organist.


On Monday a public tea was held in the Schoolroom. Over 100 persons  sat
down to a good meal, which was supervised by Mesdames: -

A lecture was given in the Church in the evening by the Rev. W. J.  FAWCETT,
M. A., of Bolton, his subject being, “Humours of Irish life and love.”
Irish songs were sung by Miss. N. FECKIE and Mr. C. JOHNSTONE.
