About seven o'clock on Saturday morning an accident from which fatal
consequences have resulted, happened on the Keswick line in the Penrith
road. As some masons were working at a great wall in Blakey's Wood, a fall
of earth rolled down the incline, and buried Charles Hall, of Ulverston,
familiarly known as " Gypsy Charles," beneath it. The poor man was taken
out, and upon examination was found to be suffering from such severe
internal injuries that he died at seven o'clock the same night. His
companions escaped comparatively unharmed.
