BRIGHAM, July 17.

A coroner's inquest was held at Brigham Low Houses, near Cockermouth,
on Wednesday the 17th instant, before William BRAGG, Esq., coroner, upon the
body of Mr. Daniel SIM, gentleman, who left his residence on the previous day,
with his rod for the purpose of fishing in the river Derwent, an amusement
which he was very partial to, and not returning in the evening, his family became
alarmed; search was made, but he was not found until the following day, when
his body was discovered near to Broughton Bridge, in deep water, known by the
name of  Ceildron Dubs.

Previous to leaving home, he complained of not being well, and the
presumption is that he either turned giddy or took a fit whereby he was
precipitated into the water. Verdict, "Found Drowned." When he was found his fishing
pannier was upon his back, with about five pounds of fish. Mr. SIM was in his
73rd  year, and was well known in Carlisle
