Played at the Recreation ground on Saturday, before a good gate. The Recs were short of SMALLWOOD, SMITH, and LIGHTFOOT while Maryport played without Tom SMITH. A couple of penalty kicks, taken by TIMONEY, enabled Maryport to get into the Recreation half, but MILBURN recovered lost ground.-------- WESTMORLAND sent the ball to mid-field again. A smart passing movement, initiated by MILBURN and taken part in by GLOVER, JOHNSTON, and HAILE, was checked by TIMONEY.---------was a run into the open by HARRINGTON. MARLAND afterwards kicked to MILBURN.------------TIMONEY and ROBLEY being successively called upon to kick out.

BLYTHE took the kick-------A fine passing bout initiated by WHITE ------------But SPARKS charging as before---------McMASTER failed to improve. WHITE, VARTY, FLYNN and HENNEY indulged in a fine passing bout-----------McMASTER, BLYTHE, YOUNG and BARKER.---------STEPHENSON failed at goal----------CORLETT again got over in fine style. Result :-

At Cleator Moor on Saturday---- Mr J. MOORE , Millom, was referee.
Cleator started, and the home line was soon in peril, but JOYCE and DOBBIN relieved ROBINSON put in a fine run--------he was well tackled by RUMNEY--------DAWSON failed at goal.-----S JOYCE being prominent--------WAKELO put in a well judged Kick.-------Workington players followed up, and PINGEY scored.---------passed to R JOYCE, who transfered to DOBBIN,-------J.SPEDDING further improved the home score.

SEATON V. EGREMONT.
Seaton opened their new ground with this, their first home fixture. Mr T. MILBURN kicked off for Seaton--------W. IRVING made a nice run and passed to VARTY who did not get far before being collared. FLETCHER the got possession-------------but had to pass to ASKEW who knocked on.---------------NICHOLSON and MEARS with a good dribble, almost carried the ball over the Egremont line, but NICHOLSON getting off-side spoiled Seaton's chance.------ FLETCHER----scored near the corner flag.--- ADDISON failed to convert.------Jack FLETCHER made one of his characteristic runs-------he passed to RIDDELL who scored.
