PROTEST MEETING AT COCKERMOUTH.

A meeting to protest against the Turkish atrocities in Macedonia was held in the Court House, Cockermouth, on monday night Mr Josiah HALL presided, and was supported by the Revs B HAWKER, W H PARKER, W E DIXON, H D FORD, F H KINCH, J FORSTER, Mr LAWSON, Isel Hall, and Mr G PRIOR. There was a good attendance.

The Rev B HAWKER spoke of the conditions of the people of Macedonia in normal times.

The Rev W E DIXON moved a resolution expressing sorrow at the present condition of things in Macedonia,

The Rev J FORSTER seconded.

Mr WALKER expressed a hope that the meeting would not go away with the impression that the Government was doing nothing in this matter.
The resolution was unanimously agreed to, and on the motion of Mr PRIOR it was resolved to send copies therof to the Prime Minister and Foreign Secretary.
On the motion of Mr PARKER, a vote of thanks was accorded the chairman.
A collection was taken, the proceeds, after defraying the expenses of the meeting, to be sent to the fund for the relief of the suffering in Macedonia.
