Considerable excitement was created at Finchley, London, on Saturday, in
consequence of the discovery of a body in one of the woods. It was clear a
murder had been committed, for the body, which was that of a young man, had
several terrible wounds, apparently made by a gun or a pistol. The police were communicated with, and a thorough search was made in the
wood, but no gun, knife, or pistol was discovered. The hat of the
unfortunate man was found a short distance from the place where the murder appears to
have been committed.
