CLEATOR MOOR FAIR

ACCIDENT AT ONE OF THE
ROUNDABOUTS.

The usual collection of roundabouts,  shows, shooting galleries, etc.,
were assembled at the back of the Market Hall  for the fair days, Monday and
Tuesday.

The weather being ideally fine, there  was a very large concourse of
people from all parts of the district.

Unfortunately the pleasure of the people  was marred by an accident on
one of the roundabouts. Mrs. J. NICHOLSON,  Jacktrees Road, and several others
were having a ride; Mrs. NICHOLSON held a  little girl belonging to Mr. J.
GILLIAT, P. O., on her knee, when they were  thrown from the carriage to the
ground.

Mrs. NICHOLSON received several nasty  bruises about the face, and was
unconscious for a time. The little girl, who was  also unconscious, was removed
home, and the doctor was sent for. At the time of  writing both Mrs. NICHOLSON
and the little girl are progressing  favourably.
