Rev. W. H. COOKSON, Wigan, gave an inspiring discourse.
At the public “faith” tea which followed on the schoolroom, the tables were

The church was crowded in the evening when Mr. COOKSON delivered his
popular
lecture “The funny side of things” which kept his listeners in continuous
merriment. Mr. J. H. YOUNG, Workington presided, and other speakers were: -

Appropriate music was well rendered by the choir, and in the anthem “O for
closer walk with God,” Miss. Muriel DIXON took the solo with pleasing
effect.
Mr. Robert A. DIXON presided at the organ. A comprehensive vote of thanks
was
cordially adopted.
