MARKET AT WHITEHAVEN.

On Wednesday evening, at the Auction Mart in Duke Street, Whitehaven, Mr.
Jas. JACKSON offered for sale two lots of freehold property situate in
Whitehaven.
The first lot consisted of a dwelling-house, with yard, stable, and
outbuildings, No. 59c., Roper-street, occupied by Mr. W. DALZELL, butcher. The
bidding started at £500, and was advanced to £600, when the property was withdrawn.
The second lot was a yard situate in James-street and Albion Street, two
shops 35 and 37, James Street, and a dwelling house and a slaughter house
behind the same, in the occupation of Mr. DALZELL, Mr. H. REAY, and Mr. J.
MARSHALL.
A purchaser was not found for this lot either, the property being withdrawn
at £400. Messrs. BROCKBANK, HELDER and BROCKBANK were the solicitors for the
vendors.
