The annual meeting of this association was held on Friday last  week. Mr. J.
S. AINSWORTH presided. Mr. AINSWORTH, M. P.,; Mr. G. W. HARTLEY,  Rosehill;
and Dr. SPEIRS were also present.

 The report of the Committee stated that the result of the  registration of
voters had been very favorable. The financial statement showed  an expenditure
for papers of £22, towards the library £33, leaving a balance in  hand of £25.

 The following resolutions were carried unanimously: -

Moved by Mr. W. LECK, supported by Dr. SPEIRS, resolutions were carried in  
favor of the Franchise Bill and the disestablishment of the Church.

 The following officers and committee were elected: -

President, Mr. J. S. AINSWORTH

Vice - Presidents, Mr. D. AINSWORTH, Dr. SPEIRS, and Sir W. LAWSON.

Treasurer, Mr. T. RICHARDSON

Auditors, Messrs. W. ELLBECK and S. SLATER.

The committee consists of 30 members, 15 retiring annually. The following

thanks to the Chairman concluded the proceedings.
