On Friday afternoon, last week, the friends and neighbors  celebrated the
Golden wedding of Richard DIXON, bobbin turner and Jane, his  wife, of Friar Row,
Caldbeck, who were married at Langholm, on the 10th day of  October, 1834.

At five o’clock a substantial tea was provided for all comers. The  tables
were presided over by Miss. Margaret BELL, Miss. Ester EMMERSON, and  Miss.
Annie ASDHBRIDGE.

A great number of people attended during the evening, and dancing was
indulged in till nearly twelve o’clock, when the company dispersed. The happy
couple who have a large family, have resided at Caldbeck for about forty-six
years, and have worthily gained many friends. They are each in the seventy-third
year.

“Oald Dick Dixon,” as the husband is farmiarly called, is greatly
afflicted with rheumatism, and not able to do much work. “Oald Jeanie,” is in  good
health, hale and hearty. They both enjoyed themselves very much, and were
grateful for the kindness shown them on the occasion.
