THE WHITEHAVEN AUTUMN
RACE MEETING.
Owing to the Border Union Coursing Meeting and the Carlisle Assizes being
fixed for the same week as the above meeting, it has been decided to postpone
the race until the 4th November.

PROFESSOR ANDRE’S ALPINE CHOIR.
By an advertisement in our columns it will be seen that the Alpine Choir are
thinking of paying us another visit. We understand the choir has been
considerably augmented since its former visit, and we have no doubt our readers
will give them a hearty welcome. The concerts are to commence the 30th inst.

THE SATURDAY EVENING CONCERTS.
The Whitehaven Saturday Evening Concert Committee have decided to hand over
the profits of the last seasons concerts as follows, viz, :-
£20 to the Infirmary
5 to the Dorcas Society
£5 to the Piper’s Soup Kitchen.
A meeting of the committee was held on Thursday evening with reference to
the question of continuing the concerts during the coming winter.
