Much disputation having recently taken place, relative to the legality of selling table beer without license, for the information of all interested, we give the subjoined extract from the Excise Officer’s Manuel on the subject: -
“By Treasury Order, November 9th, 1830, no objection is to be made to the sale of beer only by retail by license, provided it be not sold at a higher price than three half pence per quart;” so that the vendors of this description of malt liquor may sell as heretofore, either on or off the premises.
