ST. PAUL’S CHURCH,
FRIZINGTON.
_____
Harvest thanksgiving services were held in this church on Friday evening and on Sunday. Considerable time and care have been bestowed on the decorations, which gave the church a very pleasing appearance. On Friday evening and at both services on Sunday there were large congregations. On Friday night an eloquent discourse was given by the Rev. S. G. CRAIG, rector of Lamplugh. The Rev. W. TAYLOR and Rev G. B. HALL also took part in the service. Mr. Alfred HALL, Cleator Moor, presided at the organ. Special hymns and anthems were sung by the choir, and the anthem, “Let the people praise thee, oh God,” was rendered in a highly creditable manner. The solo was taken by Miss. SMITH.
The embellishing of the arch - which was kindly made and fixed by Mr. CLARK, Threapthwaite, Cleator Moor - the pulpit, lectern, font and other parts was much admired. The work of decorating was carried out under the superintendence of the Rev. G. B. HALL by the following: -
