HENSINGHAM WESLEYAN CHURCH
_____
In connection with the mission, being held in the above church by Mr. King LAMBERT, of the Evangelisation Society, a most successful tea was held in the Schoolroom on Friday afternoon. The provisions for the tea were provided by friends interested in the mission, and all responded most heartily. The tables were most artistically arranged, and presided over by: -
Mrs. SOUTHWARD
Mrs. STEWART
Mrs. REID
Mrs. ROTHERY
Mrs. WADE
Miss. M. BELL
Miss. CATHEY
Miss. MILLER
Cutters up: -
Mrs. COOPER
Mrs. MILLER
Mrs. JAMES attended to the water boiling.
Doorkeepers: -
Mr. J. TAYLOR
Mr. S. COOPER
There was a large number at the tea. The interest taken in the mission by the villagers in general has been remarkable. The services have been well attended. After tea a public service was held, when Mr. LAMBERT gave a most impressive address from the text, “Sis, we would see Jesus.”
At the service, Mr. TAYLOR on behalf of the stewards, thanked all those who had contributed towards the tea, and to the choir and the soloists, under Mr. WADE for contributing towards the success of the mission. Also on behalf of the Society he wished to ask Mr. LAMBERT to give a return visit next year. Mr. LAMBERT kindly consented to pay a second visit if it was the wish of the friends here. He wished to thank the ladies who had presided at the tea tables.
