The Carlisle Wesleyan District Synod met at Millom on Wednesday.
Representatives from all the circuits were present. The following resolution was passed,
moved by Mr MANDALE, of Workington, and seconded by Rev W. BELL, of Dumfries:
"That this Synod desires to put on record its profound sorrow at the carnage
and massacre of the Christian population of Macedonia, and to urge his
Majesty's Government to use all legitimate means to save our fellow-Christians in
South-east Europe from the intolerable evils from which they suffer under
Turkish rule." A copy of the resolution has been forwarded to the Prime Minister
and Foreign Secretary.
