EASTER BRIDES
WEST CUMBERLAND
______
HERON - SARGINSON
AND
HERON - BREEN
Behind a double wedding which was solemnised at St. Mary's Church, Cleator, on Wednesday afternoon, lies a romantic tale of two sisters.
A marriage had been arranged between Miss. Elizabeth HERON, who lives in Todholes Road, Cleator Moor, and Mr. Tom SARGINSON, of the Ellers, Ulverston. Her sister, Christina, and her fiance, Mr. James H. BREEN, Duke Street, secretly decided to obtain a special license a week before the ceremony was due to take place and only announced their intention to participate in a double wedding on the eve of the event.
The marriages were quiet in view of a recent bereavement in the home of the brides. The Rev. F. C. CLAYTON, O. S. B., the officiating clergyman, conducted his first dual wedding in a career extending over 50 years.
The bride's father, who is at present in the U. S. A., was a former member of the Millom U. D. C.
