CAPE - RUSSELL
On Easter Monday, a large congregation was present in Holy Trinity Church, West Seaton, to witness the wedding ceremony between Mr. Harry CAPE, youngest son of Mr. Joseph CAPE, and the late Mrs. CAPE of 107, Siddick, to Miss. Florence May RUSSELL, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert RUSSELL, of 14, Old Side, Workington.
The Easter decorations of beautiful flowers and foliage were still in the church, and in the spring sunshine the bridal party presented a very pretty picture.
Mr. Robert RUSSELL, junior, was best man, and the bride was given away by her father. The chief bridesmaid was Miss. Mary BANTON, of Flimby, niece of the bridegroom. There were also two small attendants, Miss. Phoebe CLARK, niece of the bridegroom, and Master Norman MUMBERSON, nephew of the bride. The former wearing a blue satin dress and carrying a basket of flowers, and maiden hair, and the latter dressed in a Kate Greenaway suit of blue velvet and silk.
The bride was dressed in a white crepe georgette with veil and wreath of orange blossom, and carried a sheaf of lilies. Miss. BANTON wore a peach coloured satin and a picture hat, and a signet ring, the gift of the bridegroom. All the dresses were ankle length.
Suitable bridal music was played by the organist, Mr. I. R. RAMSDEN. After the ceremony, a reception was held in the Parochial Hall.
