The operative cotton-weavers of Carlisle have issued an appeal to the
manufacturers of Cumberland, on their present degraded situation, in consequence
of the low rate of wages with which they are paid. They cannot, they say, earn
more than six or seven shillings a week. - Tyne Mercury.
