A man who was landed from a boat near Maryport, a few days ago, was afterwards
apprehended and taken before Mr. CURWEN, who, after due examination, committed
him to Carlisle gaol. There are strong suspicions of his being the person who,
about a fortnight ago, at Port Patrick, swindled an Irish Drover out of a
considerable sum of money.
