UNIVERSITY AND ECCLESIASTICAL INTELLIGENCE.

The Rev. Thomas ROBINSON, who for some time past has been officiating at Hensingham, near
Whitehaven, has been presented to the living of Muncaster, in Westmorland, by Lady MUNCASTER, of
Muncaster Castle, patroness.

The Rev. John B. PHILIPS, formerly of All Souls College, Oxford, has been presented to the
Incumbency of St. Andrew's, Manchester, Patron, the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church, of
Manchester.

The Vice-Chancellors of Cambridge and Oxford, have respectively appointed the Rev. Philip FREEMAN,
M.A., Fellow of St. Peter's College, Cambridge, and the Rev. T. B. LANDON, M.A., of Magdalene
College, Oxford, to conduct the annual examination at Rugby School.

The Very Rev. Dr. JEUNE, Dean of Jersey, and the new Master of Pembroke College, has been presented
by the Dean and Chapter of Gloucester to the rectory of Taynton, in that county and diocese, vacant
by the death of the Rev. Dr. HALL. A prebendal stall in Gloucester Cathedral is also attached to the
Mastership of Pembroke.

The Bishop of Chester has nominated Richd. WALL, B.A., (24th Wrangler, 1844,) to the
Vice-Principalship of the Training College, Chester.

The Bishop of London has introduced a bill into the House of Lords, entitled "An Act for better
regulating the Offices of Lecturers and Parish Clerks, and for encouraging the making better
Provision for the Spiritual Wants of Parishes and Districts."

The Church-yard of St. Margaret's, Durham, having become too small for the wants of the population,
the Dean and Chapter of Durham have liberally presented the Chapelry with upwards of two acres of
land adjoining the existing burial ground.
