Death of Cleator Moor Man in South Africa
Last mail brought the sad news of the death of Mr Nicholas Branney at
the Village Deep GM Co's Mine Transvaal.

It is 10 years since Mr Branney emigrated to South Africa and with the
exception of a short time spent at home during the war has worked at the
machines constantly up to a week prior to his death.

The funeral was largely attended.  Amongst local people present were :
