The Times, Monday, Nov 12, 1787; pg. 3; Issue 898; col B Lord LONSDALE's line of battle ship, of which so much was vaunted a few years past, is still the joke of Cockermouth and Whitehaven, in all circles that have spirit to view his Lordship in his proper character, and to speak their sentiments on this Ancient Pistol of the collieries! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Does anybody have the slightest idea what this is all about???
