We find the navy at the present moment to consist of 230 vessels of all
descriptions, mounting 3,471 guns, viz., 3 yachts, 14 sea-going
line-of-battle ships, 31 frigates, 35 sloops of war, 34 smaller vessels, 68 steam vessels, 25 surveying vessels (including 9 steamers,) 9 troop ships, 1 hospital ship, and 10 stationary guard ships
