The second of a series of weekly whist drives, promoted by the members of the Moresby Parks branch of the British Legion, was held in the  Miner’s Welfare Hall on Tuesday night. There were 73 entries and the following  were the results: -

Ladies: -

1. Mrs. THOMPSON, after a cut, 175

2. Miss. GUNN, 175

3. Mrs. SHUTTLEWORTH, 174

Hidden number, Mrs. ARMSTRONG, 144

Gentlemen: -

1. Mr. E. EASTERBROOK, 184

2. Mr. W. MURRAY, 175

3. Mr. T. L. BEST, 172

Hidden number, Mr. NUTTER, 146.

 Mr. r. SCOTT was M. C. The proceeds were for the funds of the  Branch.
