 The annual meeting of the Threlkeld Women Unionist Association  was held in
the Threlkeld Public Room on Wednesday afternoon, when the chairman,  Mrs. F.
M. FOX presided.

 The hon. Secretary and treasurer, Miss. M. TATTERS, The Grange, in  her
annual report stated that they had 28 members which was an increase of two  on the
previous year. They had had four meetings which had been very well  attended,
an average of 23 being present at each meeting. The speakers at their  winter
meeting had been: -

Lady BAXTER

Mrs. FYFE, Newcastle

Miss. GRAVES, Keswick

Miss. HASELL, Dacre, and they thanked them for what they had done. She  hoped
 they would again increase their membership. (Applause.)

 Mrs. FOX proposed and Mrs. TAYLOR seconded, the adoption of the  report.

 Mrs. FOX was re-elected chairman

 Entertainment was provided by Miss. Margt. OUSBY, Keswick and Mrs.  LEADER,
Keswick who sang, accompanied by Miss. Elsie FOSTER. There were  pianoforte
selections by Miss. FOSTER, Mrs. FYFE, Newcastle, gave an  address.
