THRELKELD MEMORIAL SERVICE.

Threlkeld celebrated Remembrance Day, by a service in the Threlkeld  Church,
and at the Threlkeld War Memorial on Sunday morning. It was conducted by  the
vicar, the Rev. E. RUSSELL, B. A.

A procession consisting of the Blencathra Lodge of Mechanics, the Threlkeld
ambulance and men and the day school children went from the Mechanic’s club
room  at the Salutation Inn to the memorial, where the hymns “Fight the good
fight,”  and “Abide with me” were sung.

The Last post and Reveille were sounded by Mr. T. B. RIDLEY and Mr. J.
RIDLEY placed a wreath on the memorial on behalf of the village. They then
attended a service at the church when a collection was taken for the Threlkeld
Nursing Association.
