 The monthly meeting of the Ireby Women’s Institute was held on Wednesday. Miss. GRAVES presided over a good attendance of members.
After the business had been dealt with Mrs. BRICKERTON, who went as delegate to the annual meeting at Carlisle gave her report. A co-operative  supper was served after which nominations were made for the new committee.

The hostesses for the supper were Miss. SMITHSON, Mrs. J. J. LORRIMER  and Miss. REPLH. The social hour took the form of community singing, Mrs.  BOULTON being the accompanist.

 It was decided to hold a whist drive in the Oddfellows Hall on  December 2.
