Miss. IVINSON presided over the monthly meeting at which two new members were admitted.

Mrs. BRAGG gave a useful demonstration on “short pile rugs,” and was thanked on the motion of Mrs. MARTIN, seconded by Mrs. GRAINGER.

A competition for home-made chutney was judged by Mrs. BRAGG and Mrs.   NORMAN, and the prize was won by Mrs. M. B. IVINSON.

Later a very successful whist drive was held in aid of the children’s  
Christmas treat, twenty-nine tables being in use. The prizes were won by:  -

 Mr. Fred BARTLE, the M. C. was then thanked on the motion of Mrs. H.   IVINSON. Supper was served and a cake given by Mrs. IVINSON, was drawn for,   realizing about 20s, and being won by Mr. H. MALLINSON.
