TUESDAY. The Rev. M.R. GRAHAM presided.-Mr. R. BELL moved that a fever hospital be provided at the Workhouse, arguing that premises ought to be ready for fever patients, if they should happen to have any. The motion fell to the ground for want of a seconder. The Clerk read a letter from the Carlisle Union to the effect that fever pauper patients belonging to the Longtown Union could be received at Crozier Lodge on the usual terms, 31s 6d weekly. This gave rise to some discussion, and it was decided that Dr. WALKER should have discretionary power to send fever patients to the hospital at Carlisle.-Mr. BELL dissented from this proposition. Amongst the highway business, a letter was read from the Clerk of the Peace inclosing a Provisional Order declaring certain roads in the Longtown Union to be main roads, viz., the road from the London and Glasgow main road at Millhill to the Glasgow and Carlisle road at Sarkfoot; the road from the Dicktree to the English Town road end; and the road from the cliff to the Tyneside station.-The order will be made final at the next Sessions.
