Last Sunday was observed by the friendly societies at Distington as Hospital Sunday. The different societies mustered at the Sunday School, Church Road. The procession was taken part in by the Pica Brass Band (who gave their services), the juvenile Oddfellows, Freegardeners, Oddfellows, and Workmen's Friendly Society and was fairly well attended. There was a large attendance at the church. Morning prayer was said by the rector while the gamekeeper (unreadable-the rest of article is torn away)
