A young woman of the name of JANET M'CULLOCH, an inhabitant of Lochmaben, who went on Tuesday se'ennight to visit her friends at Lochbrow, was drowned in the Annan, some time in the afternoon of Thursday.

A Lady of the name of LEIGH, will make her appearance in the fashionable world this season, whose fortune exceeds £140,000 per annum, in freehold estates.


A fine boy about twelve years of age, was drowned at Kinghorn on Saturday se'ennight, in a mill pond.  He had gone on the ice after a ball, when it gave way.


Thursday se'ennight a quantity of Highland whiskey amounting to 80 gallons, was seized by an excise officer, without resistance, at Dalmuir.


A turnip was pulled last week in a field belonging to MR. DAVID SMITH, at Fullarton, weighing 30 lbs. and measuring 3 feet 10 inches.
