ASSOCIATION FOR THE PROSECUTION OF FELONS.

AT a Public Meeting of the Inhabitants and Owners and Occupiers of HOUSES, LANDS, AND TENEMENTS, within the several Parishes of

ASPATRIA, PLUMBLAND, TORPENHOW, BOLTON, IREBY, ALLHALLOWS, & ISELL,

in the County of Cumberland, holden at Cockbridge Inn in the said County, on Saturday, the First Day of January, 1814,

It was mutually and reciprocally agreed

To associate themselves and form a SOCIETY for the Purpose of Prosecuting all Murders, Felonies, Burglaries, or other inferior Offences to be committed within the said several Parishes, or any of them, against the Lives or Property of any of the Members of the said Association, during the Term of Fourteen Years.  And for the Purpose of carrying the Rules of the said Association into Effect, the following Gentlemen were appointed a Committee, viz

                                           GENTLEMEN.

And
MR. JOSEPH GIBSON,     TREASURER.

That the following REWARDS should be paid by the Treasurer, out of the Public Fund to any Person or Persons, not being a Member of the Association, who shall apprehend any Person or Persons guilty of the following Offences, against any Member of this Society, on Conviction of such Offender or Offenders.

FOR MURDER, BURGLARY, HIGHWAY OR FOO* PAD ROBBERY, OR PRIVATELY STEALING FROM ANY SHOP WAREHOUSE &c., TO THE VALUE OF FIVE SHILLINGS OR MORE................£10  10s

STEALING ANY HORSE, MARE, GELDING, OR COW.........£5  5s

BURNING HOUSES, BARNS, STACKS OF CORN, HAY, STRAW, OR WOOD....£10  10s

STEALING CALVES, SHEEP, LAMBS, OR PIGS.......£3   3s

MAIMING OR WOUNDING ANY HORSE, MARE, GELDING, OR OTHER CATTLE
                                                                                                                                       £5  5s

STEALING POULTRY......£1  1s

STEALING TURNIPS OR CABBAGES, GRASS OR HAY, CORN, OR GRAIN, OAT OR ANY FIELD YARD OR BARN, THRASHED OR UNTHRASHED..............10s  6d

BREAKING OR STEALING ANY GATES OR STILES; OR ANY IRON WORK BELONGING THERETO..................10s  6d

BREAKING OR STEALING ANY HEDGES, POSTS, OR RAILS.....10s  6d

STEALING ANY TIMBER OR WORKING TOOLS....10s  6d

STEALING OR DAMAGING ANY WAGGONS, CARTS, PLOUGHS, HARROWS, OR OTHER IMPLEMENTS OF HUSBANDRY....£1  1s

ROBBING ANY ORCHARD, OR GARDEN....16s 6d

And for any other Felonious Act, not before particularly mentioned, such Reward as the Committee shall think proper to allow.

Any Accomplice, making a Discovery to Conviction, shall be entitled to the same Reward, and Means used to obtain a Pardon.
