The Sunday School anniversary took place  on Sunday last. The Rev. W. H. JAMES, of Egremont, preached a very eloquent  sermon in the morning. In the afternoon and evening he conducted a spiritual examination on "Incidents in the lives of the patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac and  Jacob."

About sixty of the scholars took part.  Special music was rendered by the choir, assisted by the children, under the  leadership of Mr. M.IRELAND.
Collections were taken after each service in aid  of the school. Great praise were due to Miss. WALKER, Miss. TELFORD and Mr. M. IRELAND and  the rest of the teachers for the efficient way in which the  children performed their various parts. There was a large congregation at every  service.
