Under most favourable circumstances the Sunday School of Frizington Primitive Methodist Chapel celebrated its anniversary on Sunday. During the day three services were held in the spacious Sunday School, which has recently been thoroughly renovated. At the morning service there was a good congregation. The Rev. P. S. CARDEN, circuit minister, Cleator Moor,officiated, and preached an interesting sermon. In the afternoon a children's service, at which the Rev. P. S. CARDEN presided was held, when there was a The opening address was given by Mr. B. PEARCE, Dialogues were given by: Mary E. QUAYLE and Annie SMITH (Cheerfulness) Lottie WILLIAMSON and Christina EDWARDS, (collection dialogue) Recitations were contributed by: Sarah A. DICKSON Lily WILLIAMSON Tom COOK Olive IVEY Nellie EDWARDS John W, JOHNSTONE Kate MACKINTOSH Mabel IVEY Maggie HUTCHINSON Clara RUDD Wm. PEARCE M. MACKINTOSH Mary Ann HAYES Annie WILLIAMSON Sarah Jane LINDLEY. The Choir under the leadership of Mr. John PEARCE rendered special hymns during the service, as well as an anthem, "Bless the Lord, O my soul." the singing being keenly appreciated. Mr. Calvert THOMPSON presided at the organ with his usual ability, and the service was a hearty one. In the evening another largely attended service was held, Mr. CARDEN again officiated.
