The monthly meeting of this Board was held in the Council Chambers, Frizington, on Friday. Present: Dr. J. I. LACE, in the chair. Rev. W. TAYLOR Rev. T. A. BAMFORD Miss. JONES W. H. PEPPERALL J. LAIDLAW J. R. THOMPSON, clerk RESIGNATION OF A TEACHER. A letter was read from Miss. M. E. STAINTON, a teacher at the Arlecdon Mixed School, resigning her appointment, as she had entered into an engagement in Yorkshire at a much higher salary than at her present one. It was agreed to accept the resignation. The question of the filling up of the vacancy was referred to Arlecdon Visiting Committee to report at the next meeting. TO PUPIL TEACHERS. A resolution was adopted to the effect that pupil teachers should be informed that their engagement with the Board is strictly in accordance with the letter of their indentures, and the members of the Board do not bind themselves to retain the services of any pupil teacher after the completion of their apprenticeship. The Clerk submitted his financial estimate for the current year, which showed that a School Board rate of 10 1/2 d in the £ would be required. The Clerk was instructed to advise the overseers that precepts would be issued accordingly. |
