09 January 1902 Wyndham Mines Benefit Society

WYNDHAM MINES BENEFIT SOCIETY.        The annual meeting of the members of this society was held in the ante room of the Town Hall, Egremont, on Saturday evening. There was a fair attendance, and the chair was occupied by the president, Mr. D. JAMIESON.        The balance sheet for the year ended December 31st was read by the joint secretary, Mr. W. T. JAMES. The accounts showed that after meeting and expenses during the year and paying a dividend of 10s 6d to full members, the amount standing to credit was £3 7s.        Dr. BRAITHWAITE was appointed medical officer for the ensuing year. The following committee of management was re-elected:- Messrs. D. JAMIESON D. NORMAN J. BRERETON A. COOK J. J. GRIEVES M. TOMLINSON John FARRON W. R. NICHOLSON        Mr. A. COOK moved, and Mr. J. BRERETON seconded, that Mr. JAMIESON be re-elected president of the club for the current year. - This was agreed to. - Messrs. W. T. JAMES and J. IRVING were appointed secretaries.        Mr. IRVING moved that the meeting tender it's best thanks to the Chairman and committee for their diligent services during the past year. Mr. J. ADAIR seconded, and it was cordially endorsed by the meeting, the Chairman acknowledging the compliment.
