Moon sets at 7-38. --Monday, January 13 -- Cycle lamp time at Whitehaven 5-13 p.m. 1785 - The "Times" newspaper began. 1898 - Bye-election in York, Lord Charles BERESFORD elected by a majority of eleven over Sir Christopher FURNESS, the Liberal candidate. At a subsequent recount the voted allowed to be good were equal, whereupon Sir C.
