The works of the students attending the Art School at Tullie House are now being exhibited in the Art Gallery at Tullie House.  They will be on view every day from eleven o'clock till dusk up to the 23rd December.  They form altogether an interesting collection, embracing specimens of drawing from life, oil and water colours paintings, time studies, shading and outline drawing from the cast, drawing from the antique, geometrical problems, original design, art needlework, and examples of the work of the Sketch Club.  The work of the life class is a particularly noticeable feature, and consists to a large extent of skillfully drawn heads in chalk and oil by THOMAS CARR, E. YOUNG, MRS. SPARKE, MISS MARTINDALE,  MISS JAMES, and MISS STRONG.  Original designs in ink and colour are the work of MISS MARTINDALE and ALFRED TINNISWOOD; and time studies, which show readiness and skill in the use of the pencil are by WALTER WOODHOUSE and R. W. SMELLIE.  Shadings from the cast bear among other names those of AGNES LITTLE, MISS DALGLEISH, R. G. DAVIDSON, J. W. BAXTER, W. J. SCOTT, W. C. SMITH, J. GREENUP, and ERNEST TURNER.  They have been accepted from the art class teachers and art masters; certificates.  The drawings from the antique, don in chalk, exhibits skill on the part of MISS HALIFAX, MISS B. BROWN, and MISS JAMES, and they include a drawing of the head of Homer By MISS BROWN, which has been accepted for the National Competition.  The exhibits of still life in oil and water colours, are by MISS R. LITTLE, MISS STRONG, MR. J. T. SHAW, MISS MARTINDALE, and MISS BEATY.  A decorated study of a Chinese pheasant by JAMES W. BAXTER is a clever piece of work; and the specimens of art needlework by the MISSES PICKERING deserve particular mention.  The SKETCH CLUB,whose interest in the work for which it was established continues to grow, is represented by sketches in chalk, oil, and
water colours, by MISS F. WILSON, MISS E. WHEELER, MISS MARTINDALE,  MISS JAMES< MISS CARRICK, MRS. SPARKE, MISS LITTLE,  JAMES W. BAXTER, and JOHN MACKAY.
