On Tuesday last, as MR. JOSEPH SIBSON, of Lowther, agent, was on his way to Penrith, when between Eamont Bridge and Kempley Toll bar, in a narrow part of the road, he observed one of the London mails coming down the hill. The pony, on which he rode, instead of passing, backed itself between the leaders, and together with its rider was instantly dashed to the ground. Providentially MR. SIBSON escaped without sustaing the lease injury; but the pony had two of its legs broken by the wheels passing over them. Of course, the poor animal was immediately destroyed. Not the lease blame is attached to the coachman.
