Carlisle Marble Works. _____ STEPHEN's Patent Register Stove ______ Thomas NELSON having been appointed sole Agent for the above beautiful and elegant Stove, solicits the attention of the nobility and Gentry of Carlisle and the neighbourhood to this and other Stoves, which may be seen in great variety at his Marble Works. The large reflecting surface and great power of radiation renders STEPHEN's Patent register capable of diffusing more warmth than any register Stove yet offered to the Public. The Fire part is made of Brick, the Flue can be closed at pleasure, and any part of the Stove can be removed without the necessity of disturbing the remainder; besides the above advantages it will (as far as any stove can) cure those intolerable nuisances called Smokey Chimnies, and it has altogether a most comfortable appearance. May 28th, 1844. ****** Turnip Seeds, &c. LITTLE & BALLANTYNE, (successors to W. & T. Seed Shop, No. 62, English Street Carlisle, 2nd May, 1844 ****** The Patent Brandy, Protected By The Patent Metallic Capsules. The perfectly pure and healthful quality of BETT's Patent Brandy has been certified, after careful analysis by: Edward TURNER, Esq., Professor of Chemistry to the University of London; - John Thomas COOPER, Esq., Lecturer on Chemistry; - Joseph HUME, Esq., Chemist to the Excise;- as well as others of the most eminent practical Chemists of the day. And it is prescribed, in preference to Foreign Brandy, by the highest Medical Authorities, at Guy's, St. George's, and the Westminister Hospitals; at the Bristol, Manchester, and Brighton Infirmaries; and indeed, at the principle hospitals, Infirmaries; and Public Institutions, throughout the Kingdom. A single bottle of BETT's Patent Brandy, or any greater quantity, may now be obtained in an undoubtedly genuine state. This convenient arrangement for both vendor and purchaser, and their mutual security against any deception, is effected by the use of BETT's Patent Metallic Capsules, made of pure solid metal, (not tin foil) which completely encloses the cork and mouth of the bottle, and is embossed with the words "Bett's Patent Brandy, 7 Smithfield Bars." Bett's Patent Brandy, thus protected by the Medical Profession, and protected from spurious substitution may be obtained from the undermentioned Wine and Spirit Merchants, at 3s 6d per bottle.
